The Real Survivor

Vered Argaman-Cohen is the first woman to work as a cinematographer in the reality series “Survivor”. Vered graduated from the Cinema Track at the School of Audio and Visual Arts, Sapir Academic College. She continued on to an MA in cinema, production and theory, while working in the industry in various roles, particularly as a photographer.

Vered has recently returned from Honduras, where the filming took place of the current season broadcasted on Channel 2. She tells of breath-taking experiences and unique moments that included the filming of numerous complex scenes and interviews with the competitors.

Vered’s final project, “Yuval Waits for Sunrise”, was screened at the 2012 Cinema South Festival, winning the Most Challenging Film Award. The film was screened in many additional festivals, including 2013 DocAviv, where it took first place in the Student Film Competition, the Rehovot International Festival of Women’s Films, and more.
